This Privacy Policy explains how Ninsei Labs (“skilladay,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use the skilladay website, mobile apps, and related services (the “Service”), available at skilladay.io. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

We do not sell your personal information. We use it to run skilladay, deliver your personalized skills, process your subscription, and improve the product.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

Account information. When you create an account or sign in (including with Google), our authentication provider collects your name, email address, and a unique account identifier. If you use Google sign-in, we receive your basic Google profile information (name and email); we do not receive your Google password.
Quiz responses. The skills you’re interested in, your chosen pace and cadence, and similar preferences you share in our onboarding quiz.
Payment information. When you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) collects and processes your payment details. We do not store your full card number; we receive limited billing data such as your subscription status, plan, and the last four digits of your card.
Communications. Information you provide when you contact us for support or feedback.

Information collected automatically

Usage and device data. Pages viewed, features used, actions taken, approximate location (derived from IP), browser and device type, and log data. We use this to understand engagement and improve the Service.
Cookies and similar technologies. We and our analytics providers use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and measure product usage.

2. How we use your information

Provide, maintain, and personalize the Service and your daily skill picks.
Create and manage your account and authenticate sign-ins.
Process subscriptions, billing, and renewals.
Send transactional messages (e.g., receipts, account and security notices) and, where permitted, product updates.
Analyze usage to understand and improve features and conversion.
Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

3. How we share your information

We share information only as described below. We do not sell your personal information.

Service providers. We share information with vendors who help us operate the Service, including authentication (Clerk), database and hosting (Supabase, Vercel), payments (Stripe), product analytics (PostHog), and email delivery. These providers process information on our behalf under contractual obligations.
Legal and safety. When required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of skilladay, our users, or others.
Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
With your consent. When you direct us to share it.

4. Cookies and analytics

We use first-party and provider cookies/local storage to operate the Service and to measure usage with PostHog. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the Service functions. We do not currently respond to “Do Not Track” signals, as no common standard exists.

5. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law (for example, billing records).

6. Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@skilladay.io. You can also update your account details or cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

8. Children’s privacy

skilladay is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Subscriptions may only be purchased by adults aged 18 or older. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

9. International users

We are based in the United States and process information there and in other countries where our providers operate. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in countries that may have different data-protection laws than your own.

10. Third-party links

The Service links to third-party tutorials and websites we curate. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties; their policies govern your use of their sites.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
